Abstract Submission Guidelines

POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

1. Poster Size & Orientation

Recommended Size:

  • A0: 84.1 cm x 118.9 cm
  • or 3 ft (W) x 4 ft (H)Portrait orientation

Printing Requirements:

  • Print on flex / vinyl / thick paper.
  • Mount the poster on the board provided at the venue.

2. Poster Layout

Mandatory sections to include:

  1. Title
  2. Authors & Institution
  3. Background / Introduction
  4. Aim / Objective
  5. Materials & Methods
  6. Results (with tables, graphs, photos as needed)
  7. Conclusion
  8. Keywords (3–5)
  9. Acknowledgements & Conflict of Interest (if any)

3. Formatting

  • Title font: Large, clear, readable from 2-3 metres.
  • Body text: Minimum 24-28 pt (avoid small fonts).
  • Use high-contrast colours (e.g., dark text on light background).
  • Prefer bullet points over long paragraphs.
  • Figures and graphs should be clearly labelled and include legends.

4. On-site Display Instructions

  • Display posters on the designated panel on or before the specified time (as per programme).
  • At least one author should be present during the poster judging session.
  • Posters not removed within the given time may be discarded by the organisers.
  • E-certificate for presentation will be issued only if the presenting author is registered for MPASICON and present at the session.

VIDEO PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

(For surgical videos, case videos, or technique demonstrations)

1. Content Type

  • Surgical technique / operative steps
  • Interesting or rare cases
  • Complication management / “How I do it” videos
  • Skill demonstrations or procedural innovations

2. Technical Specifications

  • Duration: 5-7 minutes (strictly enforced).
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 (widescreen).
  • Resolution: Minimum 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) preferred.
  • File format: MP4 or MOV.

Audio & Privacy

  • Clear narration in English.
  • Background music (if used) must be royalty-free / copyright-free.
  • Avoid showing identifiable patient details (face, name, ID tags, etc.).

3. Structure of the Video

Suggested flow:

  1. Title slide — Title, authors, institution
  2. Brief background & indication for the procedure / case
  3. Step-by-step operative / procedural demonstration with narration
  4. Key tips, precautions, and pitfalls
  5. Outcome & follow-up (if relevant)
  6. Conclusion / Take-home message (1-2 bullet points)

4. Submission Process

  • Upload your video file to the official MPASICON submission link / cloud folder (details from the organising committee).
  • Do not send video files via WhatsApp unless specifically requested.

File naming format (mandatory):

MPASICON2026_Video_[FirstAuthorSurname]_[ShortTitle].mp4

Example: MPASICON2026_Video_Sharma_LaparoscopicHernia.mp4

  • Submit a corresponding abstract on the conference website under the Video Presentation category.
  • Shortlisted videos will be notified via email / WhatsApp with the presentation schedule.

5. Presentation at Conference

  • Videos will be played from the central console. Personal laptops / USBs will not be allowed unless pre-approved.
  • The presenting author must be registered for MPASICON and present during the session for Q&A.
